Lee’s Time Window

How did Lee Oswald know that John Kennedy would appear before the Texas School Book Depository during his lunch break?

There was a one hour time window..

Presumably, if you are setting out to kill the President of the United States, and if you are going to bring a rifle into work, preposterous as the idea is in open view of everyone, you have some idea of being able to safely discharge the weapon at the President when no one else is around.

Now, if you are Lee Oswald, you only have one hour where that could conceivably be done – the lunch hour. At the other hours of the day, there are workers on the floor.

So how did Lee Oswald know that JFK would pass by during that hour?

Now, he must have known, because if he hadn’t known, why would he bring in the weapon (well, of course, he didn’t)? Or why would he have stashed one there beforehand?

He wouldn’t have.

He wouldn’t have even come close to thinking about such a preposterous idea unless he did know. Why? It would be a colossal waste of time.

Furthermore, bringing in a weapon when there was no certainty whatsoever of whether it could be used appropriately or not risks discovery and arrest.

Of course Oswald was there on the sixth floor during that lunch hour -setting up the decoy nest in my opinion, – so he must have known.

Yet there were no specific times posted in the newspapers, correct? The parade route was posted for sure, and perhaps an estimate of the time JFK would be there. Yes, it’s true, that JFK was expected to speak at the Trade Mart at a specific time, and so one could surmise that JFK would pass by shortly before. So it’s seems reasonable that compulsive newspaper reader – a felonious blot on one’s character according to Gus Russo – Lee Oswald knew all this and so decided to bring his rifle to work.

Yet, these postings would be estimates at best. Would Lee Oswald risk discovery on a hope? Surely Lee Oswald, compulsive newspaper reader, knew that Presidential schedules are immensely variable. Presidents almost never show up when they’re supposed to. For any number of security reasons, the Presidential entourage is frequently never on time.

Except this time they were.

So how could Lee Oswald be so cocksure?

Only if this was a special visit planned and executed by people who were determined to get JFK at that TSBD somewhere between 12 and 1 PM.

Thus conspiracy.
