What the Planner did was cleverly juxtapose two capers in one garage. Oswald was led to believe that he was taking a potshot (with intent to miss) at General Walker to cement his credentials as a commie; he had no idea that his rifle, magazines and backyard pictures would be used to frame him for the JFK Caper, which he did participate in. If he had thought that, he certainly would not have left these effects in Ruth Paine’s garage. It is the rifle and the picture of him with the rifle that connect the two capers.
