If you believe that Jack Ruby (JR) committed the crime of shooting Oswald (LHO) on a whim, you do not need to go any further.
Still there is a good argument that he did. One of the better articles was written by Gary Cartwright (GC) in Texas Monthly in 1975. Gary knew Jack Ruby, and based upon his experience and that of his friend, Bud Shrake, JR, consumed by emotion, most certainly would have killed Oswald impulsively. There is good reason to believe so. JR was impulsive; he was an emotional guy. JR, according to GC, would suddenly break out in tears over different situations.
The problem with this argument is that JR’s story on 11/24/23 is shaky. There are some holes there.
- Nobody saw JR enter the Main Street ramp.
- JR was spotted by witnesses hanging around the police station around 9:30 to 10:00 AM on 11/24/63.
- There are no records of phone calls between Little Lynn and JR’s apartment on 11/24/63.
- George Senator, JR’s roommate had no concept of time. Little Lynn was not much better.
- The timing of Oswald’s and Ruby’s arrival at the bottom of the police garage is too impeccable. Russian couples skaters at the Olympics couldn’t do much better.
- Two reporters,Jim Koethe and Bill Hiunter, former colleagues, who entered JR’s apartment that night after the LHO murder were killed within18 months under unusual circumstances. This is of course not definitive of any hanky panky on JR’s part. It only prompts you to look a little harder. Maybe Hunter’s was an accident; maybe Jim Koethe’s wasn’t.
- Why did JR not walk two blocks to view JFK on 11/22/63 if he was so emotionally attached to him?
- Jack Ruby had been keeping close tabs on Oswald throughout the weekend. He knew that Oswald was to be transferred around 10 AM, so why would he show up on Main Street at 11:15 AM?
If Jack Ruby’s killing of Oswald was not impulsive, then it was likely to be intentional. It would not likely be intentional because he felt bad for the Kennedy family. It would seem more likely that someone put him up to it. But who, why and when?
The purpose of this article is to explore the answer to that question..
Would it matter who put Jack Ruby up to it? The Mob, the CIA, or another entity?
Probably not because anybody who did do the killing was doing so at the behest of the oligarchy who wanted JFK of the way because he was bad for business.
So looks look at when.
Would a planner involve JR at the last minute? That would be poor planning and inconsistent with how the rest of the assassination was planned.
My personal belief is that Ruby was recruited in a highly compartmentalized manner. It would not make much sense to reveal to him the entire plan. Maybe he could figure it out for himself, but that’s not the same thing as telling him.
I think Ruby was involved in the recruiting of JD Tippit. I will enclose a map detailing the relationships that I feel led to Tippit’s recruitment (I do not believe that Tippit was recruited in order to knowingly participate in an assassination. I believe he was recruited to be a fall guy.)
A picture is worth a thousand words.
When was Tippit recruited. Probably as the assassination was being planned. I think the planner came to Dallas and through Rabbi Silverman came to meet Jack Ruby and Ralph Paul.
As the assassination was being planned, the role of having Oswald, the Patsy kill a policeman in order to demonize him was formulated.
This probably took place sometime during Oswald‘s 17 months sojourn in Dallas and New Orleans between June 1962, and November 1963.
It would take some time for Tippit to learn his role. Plus, there would have to be some acclimation process where the planner of assassination would get to knowTippit and his reliability.
Tippit’s role would be to move from the Gloco station down to Beckley and Neely, then over to 10th and Patton where he would be executed by an Oswald look-alike.
My thought process tells me that the best time to do this is in that five month period when Oswald was in New Orleans.
That gives the planner time to focus on Ruby and Tippit.
Ideally, the earlier that you recruit your players, the better they can know their lines, the better result you’ll get.
You certainly wouldn’t want to recruit these people two months before the assassination.
You would also need time to prep Jack Ruby to not talk about things. He would require some kind of motivator to do that.
What would motivate a man who is normally very impulsive not to talk about things?
We certainly wouldn’t want Ruby running up to Tippit accidentally to say. “Hey, so-and-so, asked me who would be a good cop to do this, and I mentioned you.” Of course, it might not matter at all if it were just a referral for a meaningless job that might give Tippit some extra cash. Jack Ruby certainly wouldn’t be told the real purpose of recruiting Tippit.
So what would motivate Jack Ruby?
Fear of being hassled by the IRS for the money, he supposedly owed in back taxes?
Fear of the mob knocking him off, for who knows what reason? Nobody has come up with any incredible reason why Jack Ruby would need to take care of any situation.
As we have tried to articulate in other articles, the mob theory doesn’t hold up. Why would the mob trust Jack Ruby to do anything?
Jack Ruby was not a “big” man. I doubt he was even a respected man as it relates to the mob. So why would Jack Ruby do any favors for them anyway?
It doesn’t sound like he would. So what would motivate Jack Ruby?
How about the Jews?
Jack Ruby said, after the killing in one of his statements that he did it for the Jews? Those were his words, not mine.
What did he mean by that? And how seriously should we we take that statement?
How can we evaluate that?
Well, one thing we do know about Jack Ruby is this: He cared about his Jewish roots, and he was more devout than most. Jews.
After his father died, he visited the synagogue daily for prayers for an entire year according to Jewish tradition. Most Jews don’t do that.
The congregation he attended- Shearith Israel – was and still is a conservative congregation.
Jack Ruby would regularly beat the tar out of any gentile who would make a derogatory crack about Jews.
This is indisputable.
Jack Ruby would be amenable to defending the Jews. He would be amenable to defending Israel..
My best guess is that the planner got in his ear early on and invited him to do something important for Israel.
Perhaps he told Jack that there were people out to kill the President.
Perhaps he told Jack Ruby that JFK was a friend to Israel. Of course, now we know that the Israeli leadership had some beefs with Kennedy over their nuclear weapons project and over immigration. But did Jack Ruby know that?
Maybe our planner asked Ruby how he would feel about killing someone who killed a friend – JFK – of Israel.
Maybe Jack Ruby was told a basket of lies about Oswald. Maybe he was told that Oswald had secrets that could hurt Israel.
Would Jack Ruby act upon that?
Maybe.
But could he be trusted to keep a secret.
First, Jack Ruby would not be told anything about the assassination of JFK. Maybe he would be able to figure out that on his own, but that’s not the same thing as teloi g him.
Second of all and maybe most importantly, Jack Ruby was Jewish.
Over the past 2000 years, Jews have been unfairly and horribly persecuted by gentiles.
As such, they have learned instinctively to keep things close to the vest, to not reveal too much information.
Thirdly, the planner was Jewish, and so there would be a natural tendency to using a fellow Jew – someone who you could relate to more easily.
Now, of course, all this is speculation. There is no way to prove any of this.
It’s just a theory.
And like all theories, it has to be tested out.
***
My best guess now is that Oswald was supposed to be killed at the Texas Theater as he was trying to resist arrest.
The problem was that he didn’t resist arrest. He wasn’t killed.
The planner of the assassination of the assassination was a pretty smart guy. He had created a contingency plan in case that happened.
His contingency plan was Jack Ruby.
He knew at the beginning that he needed a local individual who had ready access to the police department, who wasn’t necessarily a cop.
Jack Ruby was the perfect fit.
He could be trusted.
He could keep a secret.
He had access to the police department.
He had enough intelligence to do the job.
He had connections to the mob, which was vital. Those connections could be used to implicate the mob and send people down false pathways.
Most importantly, Jack Ruby was psychologically vulnerable. Remember, our planner as a CIA officer had access to the best psychologists in the nation who could evaluate Jack Ruby and his profile. Jack Ruby was psychologically vulnerable because he desperately wanted to be a big man, and he knew that he wasn’t. Taking out Oswald, – in his mind an enemy of JFK, and therefore an enemy of the Jews – would fix everything in his life. He would finally be a big man in history.
